About AC21
<p><b>AC21</b> is the law that, among other things, introduced H-1B extensions beyond the 6-year limit for those in the green card pipeline.</p><p>Under AC21 §104(c) and §106(a)/(b), H-1B holders with lengthy green card processes can extend in 1-year or 3-year increments beyond six years.</p><p>AC21 also enacted:</p><ul><li>H-1B portability (ability to change jobs easily)</li><li>Exempted certain employers from the cap</li></ul><p>In sum, AC21 provides crucial flexibility for H-1B workers to not be forced out due to processing delays in obtaining residency.</p>
