About Public Law 114-113 Fee

<p>This is an extra fee imposed by a 2015 law (the Consolidated Appropriations Act) on employers who have 50 or more employees and over 50% of those employees are in H-1B or L-1 status.</p><p>Such employers must pay an additional <b>$4,000</b> for each new H-1B (initial or change of employer, not extensions). It's essentially a penalty fee targeting H-1B heavy companies.</p><p>This fee is in addition to the standard fees and goes into effect at petition filing. It's set to sunset in 2027 unless extended by Congress.</p>
