About Receipt Number

<p>When USCIS accepts a petition or application, it assigns a <b>receipt number</b> (e.g., EAC-21-123-45678).</p><p>For H-1Bs:</p><ul><li>If you register for the lottery, you get a confirmation number for registration</li><li>Once you file the I-129 petition and USCIS issues a receipt, you get a receipt number</li></ul><p>This number can be used to track the case status online.
